Biological sewage treatment plants

APPLICATION

Sequential batch reactors allow effective treatment by means of aerobic microorganisms. Depending on the model, these devices are used in households, small communities of neighbours, small accommodation facilities or industrial plants. These wastewater treatment systems make it possible to re-use the treated water, e.g. for the purposes of a decorative pond or a soakwell, for a drainage system and in an aboveground plant irrigation system.

OPERATION

Sequential batch reactors operate on the basis of two 12-hours cycles. Each of them follows the other one in a strictly specified period of time. The entire system is managed by a high-tech controller. Raw wastewater is fed into a sedimentation tank where solids are retained. Sludge-free wastewater is discharged into the first bioreactor with microorganisms for wastewater treatment (activated sludge). After initial treatment, the liquid overflows gravitationally to the second reactor where it is additionally treated. This reactor is equipped with a special recirculation system for excess activated sludge which can be recirculated into the sedimentation tank or the first reactor, depending on the needs. Wastewater from the second reactor is automatically pumped out twice a day. Depending on the Customer's preference, wastewater treated in such a manner can be discharged into watercourses, rivers, streams or drainage ditches. What is more, it can also be used for plant irrigation.

ADVANTAGES

Sequential batch reactors are high-tech devices conducive to effective treatment. The design allows precise adjustment of the amount of oxygen supplied to both bioreactors which translates to full control over the parameters of the wastewater treatment process. As the presented device has been equipped with a mechanical pump, we can decide ourselves the distance between the receiver and the wastewater treatment system. An advantage of a sequential batch reactor is the variety of solutions with regard to the use of treated liquid. Without any major obstacles, you can discharge it into a drainage system, a soakwell or an ornamental pond or into an aboveground plant irrigation system. What should also be mentioned is that biological models are characterised by design ensuring robustness, strength, resistance to external agents and heavy loads. Low energy consumption translates to small operating costs, whereas automatic work guarantees complete freedom of operation.
